The Team

D.D.S., M.S., P.C.

Dr. Bolin’s orthodontic journey began in this very office when he was a patient of Dr. Sanford’s almost 20 years ago! Seeing firsthand how profoundly Dr. Sanford enjoyed helping his patients achieve their orthodontic goals left a lasting impression on a young Dr. Bolin.

He grew up in Weston attending the local schools K-12 and did his best as a mediocre pitcher for the high school baseball team. After accepting that the Yankees would probably be fine without him, Dr. Bolin continued his academic journey at Emory University. He graduated with a B.S. degree in chemistry while being inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, a distinction awarded to a small group of students attaining the highest levels of academic achievement.

Dr. Bolin returned to the northeast for dental school, graduating from Columbia University with a DDS degree. He was inducted into the prestigious dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, for outstanding scholarship and received the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity Award which is given to the top student in the graduating class.

Dr. Bolin then had the privilege of continuing at Columbia University for his orthodontic residency where he received extensive training in the use of both braces and Invisalign for treating cases of all types and complexities. Additionally, he was awarded a Master of Science degree for his research and received the Cangialosi Award for clinical excellence.

Upon graduation, Dr. Bolin was offered a part-time clinical faculty position in Columbia University’s orthodontic clinic and now spends every Friday teaching residents while staying apprised of the latest developments in orthodontics.

Dr. Bolin reconnected with Dr. Sanford while he was still in residency, and he could not be more grateful and excited to be working with the doctor that sparked his journey!

D.M.D., M.Sc. D., P.C.

Dr. Sanford received his D.M.D. with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania and his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master’s Degree in Science from Boston University's School of Dental Medicine. He is Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Before opening his office in Wilton Center in 1987, he was a partner at a highly-esteemed New York City practice in Midtown for over 10 years. He was also on staff at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center where he treated complex skeletal cases that often required orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Sanford treats children of all ages and prefers a conservative, non-extraction approach to treatment whenever possible. A large percentage of his practice are adults who suffer from overcrowding. Most adult patients are treated using miniature lingual brackets (attached to the back of the teeth) over a 6-9 month expedited treatment time.

When not creating beautiful smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife and blended family of eight children, 3 cats, and one golden retriever. He loves traveling and tasting the food around the world and considers himself a classic car enthusiast. You'd be surprised to learn he can play the guitar and sing too. He loves to show his support to non-profit organizations (especially those who support our youth) and frequently volunteers for a Pura Vida, a locally founded non-profit organization that advocates for impoverished children worldwide. Teeth aren't his only specialty - Dr. S is a master chef as well! Patients adore Dr. Sanford and appreciate the time he spends in his kitchen creating signature "Celebration Cakes" for them when braces are removed or treatment is completed.

Dr. Gregory W. Sanford is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the New England Society of Orthodontics. Dr. Sanford has been featured numerous times as one of Connecticut's Top Orthodontists in Connecticut Magazine.
